Malaysian in Tehran joined their ranks in Malaysia celebrating 1st Syawal 1432 on Tuesday, 30 August 2011. On the eve of 1st Syawal, Malaysians gathered at Rumah Malaysia for the final Iftar of 1431 Hijrah. Solat Maghrib later ensued followed by dinner. After a short break, the Jemaah performed Solat Isya and later recited the ‘Takbir Raya’. In the cool and bright Spring morning of 1st Syawal, the Malaysian community congregated with their Bruneian and Indonesian friends for the Solat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri at the Indonesian Ambassador’s Residence. At noon time, they gathered at Rumah Malaysia for the Raya luncheon. Malaysian cuisines and ‘kuih raya’ were served courtesy of Perwakilan members. It was truly an eventful moment of brotherly Ummah and kinship with great sense of accomplishment for all after the month-long fasting in the high summer of Iran. The kids had their fun time of playing ‘Bunga Api’, collecting ‘duit raya’ and enjoying ‘lagu-lagu raya’. Amb. Sadik expressed his appreciation to the HBSs and family members as well as the Malaysian community for their collective efforts towards ensuring the success of all activities that were arranged throughout Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
