ASEAN and Italy can be strategic economic partners was the main message emanating from the successful event entitled, “ASEAN: Trade and Investment Opportunities”, held in Padua on 23 April.
Attendees included government, business, industry association, and media representatives from throughout the city of Padua and the Veneto region, as well as the wider north of Italy from Sudtirol to Lombardia, to Piedmonte and Emilia-Romagna.
For Malaysia, Dato’ Zahid presented on overall ASEAN Economic integration, while Mr Ravidran Manogaran of MATRADE Milan presented on Malaysia’s economy specifically. The Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Padua, Mr Manlio d’Agostino Panebianco, moderated the event.
The other members of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) present, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, also presented on their respective economies.
The event is part of the ACRs visit to Padua to promote ASEAN’s interests and identity in Italy, coordinated by the Embassy of Malaysia in Rome and the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Padua.
