The Embassy held its first formal inter-agency meeting of the year today, 28 January 2026. The Embassy comprises of representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security based in Rome, and representatives from MATRADE and MIDA based in Milan. Additionally, Tourism Malaysia Paris covers the Italian tourism market. In addition to Italy, the Embassy is accredited to Kosovo, San Marino, and the United Nations (UN) Rome-based agencies (RBAs).
Together, we outlined an exciting year ahead with programmes and activities to strengthen, promote and elevate diplomacy, trade, investment, defence, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. We will also reman active in the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the other UNRBAs.
We look forward to supporting Malaysians in Italy, as well as those visiting.
