The 3rd Torino-ASEAN Business Day was held on 29 Feb 2024. The event is intended to raise awareness of business, trade and investment opportunities with ASEAN, and promote networking between entrepreneurs in the greater Torino area with ASEAN diplomatic missions, trade and investment officers, and chambers of commerce.
Malaysia was substantially involved in the event. Amb. Zahid gave welcoming remarks as current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR), highlighting ASEAN economic integration and the further potential for Italian trade, investment, and economic collaboration with ASEAN. Mr. Ravidran Manogaran, the Malaysian Trade Consul, shared the trade opportunities, facilities and incentives in Malaysia, and promoted business events that will be organized by Malaysia in 2024 - Semicon, SEACare and MIHAS. From the private sector, Mr. Domenico Ciaglia from Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) shared PLI’s business presence and involvement in Torino, as well as their involvement in the international automotive industry. Other officials from the Embassy in Rome, MATRADE and MIDA were also in attendance.
The event is co-organized by the Torino Chamber of Commerce, Turin Polytechnic University, the University of Torino, and Torino World Affairs Institute, as well as the governments of the City of Torino and the Piedmont Region.
