The 48th Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme, had taken place in Rome from 10–14 November 2025. Established jointly by the FAO and the WHO, the CAC plays a vital role in protecting consumer health and ensuring food standards worldwide.
Malaysia was represented at the 48th CAC by: Ts. Zailina Abdul Majid, Deputy Director General of Health-Food Safety and Quality, and Ms Nurul Syuhada Mohamad Basri, Senior Assistant Director, of the Ministry Health; as well as Ms Emelia Tay, Agriculture Attache, and Mr Anwar Faiz Othman, Assistant Agriculture Attache.
Malaysia, as the Chair and host country of the Codex Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO), a Codex subsidiary body, will be hosting the 29th session meeting on 9 – 13 February 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.
