Malaysia and San Marino enjoy warm relations with much potential for further cooperation.
During his visit to San Marino as part of his presentation of credentials, Amb. Zahid held meetings on 8 February with HE Mauro Montanari, Ambassador of San Marino to Malaysia; Mr Luca Beccari, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr Marco Gatti, Minister of Finance and Budget; Mr Fabio Righi, Minister of Industry, Handicraft and Trade; Mr Stefano Canti, Minister of Territory and Environment. Amb. Zahid had also met with Mdm Mariella Mularoni, Minister of Health, and had attended a briefing by the Chamber of Commerce.
The discussions included cooperation in the fields of diplomacy, trade, investment, and tourism. Amb. Zahid also shared information regarding the Malaysia Standard Palm Oil (MSPO) certification.
Amb. Zahid was accompanied by Mr. Ahmad Fuad Mohd Norzin, Minister Counsellor from the Malaysian Embassy in Rome, and Mr. Ravindran Manogaran, Director MATRADE Milan and Mr. Khairul Azlan Idris, Deputy Director MIDA Milan.
