Malaysia will be chairing the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) for the period of January to June 2024. Amb. Zahid assumed the chairmanship following a handover from the previous chair, The Philippines Ambassador H.E Nathaniel Imperial, at the 75th ACR Ambassadors’ Meeting on 25 January 2024, hosted by the Embassy of Malaysia in Rome.
As part of its responsibilities as Chair, Malaysia will continue the work to promote ASEAN’s interests and identity in Italy, in accordance with Article 43 of the ASEAN Charter regarding ASEAN Committee’s in Third Countries. This includes efforts to strengthen and substantiate the ASEAN-Italy Development Partnership.
