A pre-Christmas party was held at the Embassy of Malaysia on 20 December 2013 in conjunction with Christmas festivities. All home based and locally recruited staff of the Embassy took part in the celebrations. A host of Malaysian and Italian delicacies were prepared for the party by PERWAKILAN members as well as local staff showcasing their culinary skills. The event saw Ambassador Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah presenting Christmas gifts to all locally recruited staff as a token of appreciation for their commitment and dedication in their work throughout 2013. The party was further entertained when locally recruited staff sang Christmas carols and local Italian Christmas songs.
