The Ambassador, Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah recently made a courtesy call on Mr. Giancarlo Cremonesi, President of Rome Chamber of Commerce/Lazio Region. The meeting was a familiarization visit by the Ambassador on the various Captains of the business industries in Rome, after her arrival in Rome few months ago. The Ambassador took the opportunity to discuss with the Italian side the possible business cooperation between Malaysia and the Italian private sectors. The meeting was also in fact timely, as the Embassy plans to host a Business Round Table Seminar during the first half of 2012 and the cooperation of the Rome Chamber of Commerce is necessary for the convening of the seminar. The possibility of the establishment of Italian Malaysia Chamber of Commerce was also discussed during the meeting.
The Rome Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in Italy with more than six thousand companies registered under it which consists of varieties of business entities operating in Rome.
