On 16 February 2012, Her Excellency Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah presented her Letter of Credence to Mr. José Graziano DA SILVA, Director General, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The ceremony took place at the FAO Headquarters in Rome. Her Excellency was accompanied to the ceremony by the Second Secretary (Agriculture) to the Embassy. During the ceremony, Mr. Da Silva and Ambassador Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah exchanged views on ways to strengthen co-operation between Malaysia and the UN Agency particularly in improving the South-South Cooperation. The DG requested Malaysia to share with other FAO member countries especially countries in the African region, her experiences in agriculture and rural development as well as efforts in eradicating poverty.
