H.E. Amb. Zahid Rastam, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the UN Rome-based Agencies (FAO, WFP and IFAD) participated in the High-Level Roundtable: Unveiling Pathways to Agricultural Transformation in Asia Pacific Region - Strengthening Partnership for Resilience hosted by IFAD on 7 November 2023. Amb. Zahid was accompanied by Ms. Siti Normaznie Abdul Muttalib from the Agriculture Attache’s Office in Rome.
During the Roundtable, Amb Zahid delivered a statement which underscored the need for IFAD’s 13th Replenishment to continue with the implementation of projects and initiatives that contribute to the advancement of rural communities and the empowerment of small farmers in enhancing agricultural productivity and rural entrepreneurship. He reiterated that IFAD should play a strong role in rallying together the private sector, with development partners, to create strategic alliances that are efficient, effective, and accountable in mobilizing resources and expertise.
