The Embassy held its first formal inter-agency meeting of the year on 25 January 2024. The Embassy comprises of representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security based in Rome, and representatives from MATRADE and MIDA based in Milan. Additionally, Tourism Malaysia Paris covers the Italian tourism market.
This first formal inter-agency meeting allowed all agencies to review the work undertaken in 2023, and to outline priorities and coordinate activities for 2024. This is for the purpose of strengthening and elevating Malaysia-Italy bilateral relations in all the various sectors, such as diplomatic and political relations, trade, investment, defence cooperation, tourism promotion, and people-to-people exchanges.
