On 22 November 2023, Amb. Zahid, along with colleagues from the Embassy in Rome as well as the MATRADE and MIDA offices in Milan, visited the PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) Global Research & Technology Centre in Villastellone, Torino. They met with Puan Hezlin Fariss Idris, Group CEO of PLI Sdn. Bhd, and her team.
Established in 2008, PLI manufactures and markets a full range of high-quality automotive and industrial lubricants products in over 100 markets globally.
In Italy, PLI plays an important role in Malaysia-Italy economic cooperation and collaboration. It has formed partnerships with over 1800 vehicle workshops across Italy which use various Petronas lubricants brands. PLI currently holds 18% of the lubricants market in Italy and ranks among the Top 10 lubricants producers in the world.
