NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION IN ROME

The Embassy of Malaysia in Rome will host a Flag Raising Ceremony to mark Malaysia's 50th Anniversary of Independence on 30 August 2007 at the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Malaysia to Italy, H.E. Dato' Lily Zachariah.

All Malaysians residing in Rome have been invited to attend the Ceremony which will start at 1200 noon to be followed by luncheon prepared by PERWAKILAN Ladies.  After the formalities which include a speech by H.E. the Ambassador, raising of Jalur Gemilang, singing of Negaraku, Keranamu Malaysia, activities for children will take place namely drawing, colouring competition, congkak, etc.

As this year's National Day theme 'Malaysiaku Gemilang', the event is expected to raise the feeling of patriotism and sense of belonging amongst Malaysians in Italy.  This gathering will also provide opportunities for them to touch base and exchange latest information about Malaysia amongst themselves and the Embassy's staff.
