At the Ninth Informal Joint Meeting of the FAO Council, IFAD Executive Board and WFP Executive Board on 27 April, Malaysia underscores that reform of the UN Rome-based agencies (RBAs) must translate into impact on the ground, particularly for developing countries. There is a need for a clear mechanism to support delivery, avoid duplication, and ensure better alignment across the mandates and workstreams of the RBAs.
Malaysia remain supportive of efforts that enhance coherence and efficiency across the UN system, while ensuring that such reforms are firmly anchored in country needs and contribute meaningfully to advancing global food security and sustainable development.
