On 12 September 2011, Her Excellency Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah presented her credentials to His Excellency Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Republic. The simple, dignified and elegant ceremony took place at the Il Palazzo del Quirinale (Presidential Palace) in Rome. Her Excellency Datin Paduka Halimah was accompanied to the ceremony by three members of the Mission. During the ceremony, the Italian President and the new Malaysian Ambassador to the Italian Republic exchanged views on bilateral relations between Malaysia and Italy and discussed ways to deepen co-operation.
