The 49th Session of the Governing Council (GC) of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is taking place at the IFAD HQ in Rome on 10–11 February. The Malaysian delegation comprises of Dato’ Zahid, in his capacity as Alternate Governor to IFAD; Ms Emelia Tay, Agriculture Counsellor; and Mr Anwar Faiz Othman, First Secretary (Agriculture) at the Embassy of Malaysia in Rome. The theme of this GC, “From Farm to Market: Investing with Young Entrepreneurs,” highlights the role of young rural entrepreneurs in driving job creation, strengthening value chains, and promoting rural prosperity.
