25-26 May 2023 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, attended the 2023 Nikkei Conference “Future of Asia”. This 28th edition of the Nikkei Conference saw the participation of several of Asia’s prominent figures such as President of Sri Lanka, and Deputy Prime Ministers of Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand, as well as other influential leaders and personalities as guest speakers, including The Right Honourable Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia.
H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan, delivered his keynote speech at the Commemorative Dinner where he emphasized on equal partnership to create Asia’s future together with other Asian nations in the midst of many social challenges, including social disparity, financial, energy and information vulnerability. The Prime Minister also highlighted the recent hosting of the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Hiroshima and reiterated Japan’s commitment to elevate ASEAN-Japan relations to the next level during its summit in December 2023.
