On 21 June 2014, the annual ACT Bowling Tournament was held at Tokyo Port Bowl, Minato-ku, Tokyo organized by the Embassy of Lao PDR. Apart from team leader’s team of Ambassadors and Charge d’ Affaires a.i, two teams (Group A and Group B) from each ASEAN Missions participated in the tournament. The MFA, Japan represented by Mr. Yoshiharu Kato, Senior Regional Coordinator Second Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department with two (2) accompanying officials from Regional Policy Division Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau also participated in the tournament.
The team from the Embassy of Singapore emerged as the champion of this year’s tournament while the first runner up and second runner up went respectively to Thailand and The Philippines teams. Ms. Syam Juliana Hashim, Spouse of Staff Assistant to Defence Attaché was second runner up in the Women Individual Category. The bowling tournament was part of the initiatives of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) to strengthen the bond of friendship and solidarity among ASEAN communities through various events and programmes.
