On 6 June 2015, the annual ACT Bowling Tournament was held at Tokyo Port Bowl, Minato-ku, Tokyo organized by the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo. Apart from team leader’s team of Ambassadors and Charge d’ Affaires a.i, two teams (Group A and Group B) from each ASEAN Missions participated in the tournament.
The game was conducted in a three-game series format with each team fielding three players. The team from the Embassy of Thailand emerged as the champion of this year’s tournament and walked away with a challenge trophy while the first runner up and second runner up went respectively to the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam teams.
The side categories include Individual Highest Game for Team Leader, Male and Female category. HE Chin Siat Yoon, Ambassador of Singapore won the team leader category whilst HE Dato’ Ahmad Izlan Idris, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan was the second runner up and followed by HE Mahamud Ahmad, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam, who won the third prize. The bowling tournament was part of the initiatives of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) to strengthen the bond of friendship and solidarity among ASEAN communities through various events and programmes.
