The Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo played host to Malaysians during the recent Hari Raya celebrations. The celebration started off with the Solat Aidil Fitri held at the multipurpose hall of the Embassy followed by an Open House hosted by the Malaysian Ambassador to Japan HE Dato? Mohd. Radzi Abdul Rahman at the Chancery premise and Residence on Saturday, 13 October 2007. The solat and khutbah was led and read by Ustaz Jamali from JAKIM. Ustaz Jamali had earlier spent the month of Ramadhan in Japan with students all over the country.
2. More than 700 Malaysians particularly students, trainees and Malaysians working in and around Tokyo came to both functions. The guests were feted to a sumptuous Hari Raya buffet of rendang, nasi minyak, nasi impit, kuah kacang, ayam masak merah, dalca and various Hari Raya cookies. This year?s number of attendees was the highest ever for Malawakil Tokyo. Prior to the Solat Aidil Fitri, tables were set up for zakat collection performed by two amils appointed by HE the Ambassador.
