ASEAN COMMITTEE IN TOKYO (ACT) FAMILY DAY 2017

ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Family Day 2017 was held at Sekolah Republik Indonesia, Tokyo, on 23 September 2017.

 

The ACT Family Day is held annually with the aim of building closer ties of camaraderie among Embassies of ASEAN Member States in Tokyo. This year’s event, which was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, saw the participation of about 300 guests comprised of diplomatic officials along with their families and locally recruited staff from 10 Embassies of ASEAN Member States in Tokyo including Malaysia.

 

HE Dato’ Ahmad Izlan Idris, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, accompanied by YBhg. Datin Rose Abdullah and other Home Based Staff as well as their family members participated in the ACT Family Day 2017. The event was officiated by HE Mr. Arifin Tasrif, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, in his capacity of the host of the event.

 

The highlights of the event included the games for adults and children, namely, ‘Lawn Bowling’, ‘Tug of War’ and ‘Clogs Race’, among others. Following the games, the Ambassadors and their spouses were invited to enjoy a variety of dishes prepared by the participating Embassies of ASEAN Member States. Among the dishes prepared by the Embassy of Malaysia were Nasi Lemak and Bihun Goreng as well as traditional delicacies such as Karipap and Seri Muka. The event concluded at 2.00 pm with a prize giving ceremony for all the winners of the games.
