11 December 2025 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, attended the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Handing Over Ceremony, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Japan. The ceremony marked the formal handover of the ACT Chairmanship gavel to the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Japan.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for ASEAN Heads of Mission and diplomats in Tokyo to reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening ASEAN unity, enhancing regional cooperation, and further deepening diplomatic engagement with Japan under the ACT framework.
The Embassy of Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the positive momentum of ACT initiatives and to work closely with fellow ASEAN Missions in Tokyo in advancing ASEAN–Japan relations and promoting common regional interests.
