15 August 2023 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo participated in the ASEAN Month 2023 organised by the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines. The event was to commemorate the 56th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN. The event was also attended by all Heads of Mission of the ASEAN embassies in Tokyo, Japan.
During the event, 10 traditional costumes representing 10 ASEAN countries were exhibited. The Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo took a chance to feature Malaysia’s Kebaya Songket (a Malay delicate and intricately designed long sleeve blouse with a front opening) during the exhibition. Guests were also served with mouth-watering delicacies from ASEAN countries.
The event had successfully attracted around 150 guests ranging from the representatives of ASEAN countries as well as officials from the Japanese Government. The Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo congratulates the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Tokyo for successfully organising the event.
