10 Feb 2023 – Eventually after 3 years, around 100 Malaysians in Japan gathered at the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo for the Chinese New Year Celebration 2023. The event was also supported by the Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia - Japan Branch (JAGAM).
H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan in his opening remarks emphasized the need for Malaysians in Japan to continue to preserve the Malaysian multicultural uniqueness in which contribute to the harmony and prosperity of our beloved country.
The event was enlivened with an outstanding drum performance by Wadaiko Dojo Dondoko. Dondoko is a Japanese drum team established in April 2000 in Edogawa City, Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador Dato’ and a few guests took the opportunity to try and play the drum with the assistance from the professional drummers. Guests were also served with a variety of mouth-watering Malaysian food including the King of Fruits – Durian.
