7 October 2025 – H.E. Dato’ Haji Mohd Nor bin Hamzah, Speaker of the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan. He was accompanied by H.E. Haji Khazan bin Che Mat, Deputy Speaker, H.E. Haji Ridzuan bin Hashim, member of the State Legislative Assembly as well as Tn. Hj. Zuwislan bin Awang, Secretary of the State Legislative Assembly.
H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the Embassy’s role in facilitating collaboration between Malaysian states and Japanese counterparts. He also highlighted potential avenues for partnership with Japanese local governments and agencies that could benefit Terengganu’s socio-economic development.
The visit provided an opportunity to further enhance mutual understanding and explore future initiatives that would contribute to closer people-to-people and institutional linkages between Malaysia and Japan.
