29 September 2025 – Mr. Zainal Azlan Mohd Nadzir, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy, received a courtesy visit from H.E. Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development of Sarawak. The Minister was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry and representatives from leading academic institutions in Sarawak.
During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Sarawak and Japan in the areas of education, research collaboration, and talent development, particularly in science, technology, and innovation. The Minister also expressed interest in exploring partnerships with Japanese institutions to support Sarawak’s innovation and digital transformation agenda. In conjunction with the visit, the Embassy facilitated the delegation’s study visit to the JAXA Tsukuba Space Center, aimed at learning about Japan’s space research ecosystem and exploring potential areas of collaboration in aerospace education and technology development.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Japan looks forward to continuing close cooperation with the Ministry and relevant stakeholders in fostering meaningful academic and technological exchanges between Sarawak and Japan.
