29 April 2024 – His Excellency Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, welcomed a delegation led by His Excellency Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Junaidi, Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication of Sarawak. Also in attendance were Tuan Haji Hilmi bin Haji Othman, Mayor of the City of Kuching North, and Tuan Haji Mohamed Khaidir bin Abang, Director of the Commission of the City of Kuching North.
The Deputy Minister expressed his appreciation to the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo for facilitating his visit to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG). His Excellency Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman and his delegation were in Japan from 22 April until 1 May 2024, conducting a benchmarking visit aimed at fostering relationships and exploring potential collaborations with Japanese cities for the implementation of low carbon city initiatives and other related projects.
