31 July 2023 – Mr Anwar Udzir, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo received a courtesy call by Mr Toshiharu Fujiwara, who has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mizuho Bank (Malaysia) Berhad. He was accompanied by Ms Moe Kobata and Mr Toru Yuji, Vice President for Global Strategic Advisory Department. Present during the meeting were Mr Izran Abdullah, Director of Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Mr Md Jeffry Joe Meyer, Second Secretary (Information and Public Relations).
Mr Fujiwara who was the General Manager of the Global Strategic Advisory Department at Mizuho Bank Ltd is expected to assume the post of CEO of Mizuho Bank (Malaysia) Berhad beginning August this year. During the call, Mr Fujiwara also expressed Mizuho Bank’s commitment to continue to assist Japanese investors to Malaysia by offering the bank;s services and financial solutions for corporate clients.
Mizuho Bank (Malaysia) Berhad provides banking services to more than 1,600 Japanese companies as well as non-Japanese clients in Malaysia through its two branch offices in Kuala Lumpur as well as Labuan.
