15 Feb 2023 – The Japan-Malaysia Association (JMA) led by Mr. Takakazu Ogawa, Chief Director of JMA paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany. Since its establishment in 1957, JMA plays an important role in fostering and deepening a lasting people-to-people interaction and goodwill, as well as promoting tourism, economic and educational exchanges between Malaysia and Japan.
JMA has been working together with the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo and other Malaysian government agencies through several activities such as friendship exchange, seminars, publication as well as tree planting projects.
JMA received the Foreign Minister’s and Environment Minister’s commendation in July 2013 and December 2013, respectively due to its remarkable achievement in enhancing people-to-people relations as well as cultivating community awareness on environment protection. JMA also was awarded the Emperor’s commendation on November 2017.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo appreciates all JMA’s initiatives and contributions towards bringing the two nations and countries closer together, and look forward to explore more opportunities for further cooperation in the future.
