13 Feb 2023 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany received a courtesy call by a delegation from Miri City Council, Sarawak. The delegation was led by YB Adam Yii Siew Sang, Mayor of Miri City, were on a working visit to Tokyo, Japan, from 12-19 February 2023. The objective of the working visit is to have a sharing and exchange of view, as well as to observe, and learn first-hand on various management fields, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals plan for Miri City.
During the call, H.E. Dato’ Shahril took the opportunity to brief the delegation on the local government system in Japan. He also shared some information on several on-going cooperation between cities of both countries. H.E. Dato’ Shahril expressed his hope for the visit to achieve its goals and welcomed any collaboration with Japan’s local governments in the future.
