Courtesy Call by YBhg. Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah, President of Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia (ANGKASA)

19 February 2025 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, received a courtesy call from Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia (ANGKASA), led by its President, YBhg. Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the development of the cooperative movement in Malaysia and Japan, including exploring opportunities and potential for deeper engagement with Japan’s cooperative ecosystem. YBhg. Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah, who also serves as the Vice President of the International Cooperative Alliance Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP), shared insights into ANGKASA’s initiatives in advancing the cooperative sector at both regional and global levels.

 

The delegation’s visit to Tokyo coincided with the ICA-AP Board Meeting, organised in collaboration with the Japanese Consumers’ Cooperative Union (JCCU) and the Japan Co-operative Alliance (JCA) from 18 to 21 February 2025.

 

H.E. Dato’ Shahril reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting ANGKASA’s efforts in strengthening international partnerships and promoting the interests of Malaysia’s cooperative sector abroad.
