
11 May 2023 – Mr. Koji Ishikawa, Representative Director and President of Kansai Airports, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan. The call was also attended by Mr. Niqman Rafee Mohd Sahar, Director of MATRADE Japan; and Mr. Mohammad Nor Ismail, Director of Tourism Malaysia.
During the call, Mr. Ishikawa explained current operations and expansion projects at Kansai Airports. He also conveyed Osaka City and Izumisano City-based companies’ interests to participate in Malaysian iconic trade events as well as explore opportunities to create awareness on Malaysia’s participation in the World Expo Osaka 2025.
Kansai Airports has been operating the Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Osaka International Airport (ITAMI) since 1 April 2016, and took over the operations of Kobe Airport (KOBE) since 1 April 2018. Both international airports in Osaka will be two of the main gateways to the World Expo Osaka 2025.
