13 March 2023 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Keiji Furuya, Member of the House of Representatives of Japan, Chairman of Japan-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Association, and Chairman of Japan-Malaysia Association (JMA). H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Shahril was accompanied by Mr. Nor’Azam Mohd Idrus (Deputy Chief of Mission) and Mr. Radzween Abdul Razak (Minister/Counsellor).
H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Shahril expressed his gratitude to the Japan-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Association and JMA, under the leadership of H.E. Keiji Furuya for its commitment to further enhance bilateral relations in all fields of common interest. H.E. Keiji Furuya shared his fond memories during his visit to Malaysia in 2018 and highlighted a few on-going projects in the field of green technology, higher education, and environment protection in Malaysia. H.E. Keiji Furuya expressed his hope that the bilateral cooperation could be further strengthened in the future.
The courtesy call provides a platform to both sides to discuss on economic, trade and investment opportunities and was a great testament of Malaysia-Japan strong relationship. H.E. Keiji Furuya extended an invitation to H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Shahril to attend the 65th Anniversary Gala Reception of JMA which will be held in May 2023.
