Courtesy Visit by the Special Select Committee on Health, House of Representatives, Parliament of Malaysia

12 May 2025 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, received a delegation from the Special Select Committee on Health, House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia, led by H.E. Oscar Ling Chai Yew.

 

During the visit, H.E. Oscar conveyed his appreciation to the Embassy for facilitating the Committee’s working visit to Japan. The visit aimed to foster bilateral cooperation through the exchange of views and experiences with Japan institutions, particularly in areas related to healthcare services, such as  including AI and digitalisation, medical insurance, ageing population and elderly care, as well as nursing models. H.E. Dato’ Shahril highlighted that such engagements serve as valuable platforms to explore potential collaboration and derive policy insights that could contribute to the advancement of Malaysia’s healthcare system.

 

The Embassy looks forward to continued engagement with the Committee and remains committed to supporting efforts that strengthen Malaysia–Japan cooperation in the health sector and beyond.
