23 January 2026 – Mr. Zainal Azlan Mohd Nadzir, Deputy Chief of Mission, attended the cultural exchange programme of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP). SSEAYP is a long-running youth exchange initiative jointly organised by the Cabinet Office of Japan and ASEAN governments. It brings together young people from ASEAN nations and Japan for shared living, discussions, and cultural interactions, with the aim of building friendship, mutual understanding, and international cooperation skills.

The cultural exchange programme proudly showcased the richness of the cultures of Japan and the ASEAN nations through traditional attire, games, music, dance, and food. The evening created a lively and colourful atmosphere, where youths shared stories behind their customs and heritage, allowing everyone to experience firsthand the diversity and uniqueness of each nation.

The Embassy wishes all SSEAYP 2026 participants the very best as you embark on this journey. As representatives of Malaysia, may you carry our Jalur Gemilang with pride, confidence, and grace.
