Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan and Datin Jazliza Jalaludin hosted a dinner on 30 January 2009 in honour of heads of mission and spouses of concurrently-accredited countries to Malaysia. Currently, the Ambassadors/High Commissioners of Mauritania, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda, Malawi, Benin and Djibouti are concurrently-accredited to Malaysia from Tokyo. Nicaragua, Jamaica and Cameroon have also traditionally assigned their ambassadors/high commissioners in Tokyo to be concurrently-accredited to Malaysia while Micronesia is undertaking an internal process to have its ambassador in Tokyo to also be concurrently-accredited to Malaysia.
The Ambassador of Malaysia briefed the guests on the political and economic situation as well as current development in Malaysia including measures introduced by the Government of Malaysia to cushion the impact of the global economic crisis. The occasion also provided the foreign heads of mission with a good opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and explore avenues to further enhance relations with Malaysia.
