25 March 2025 - As Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT), H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, hosted a Farewell Dinner in honour of H.E. Pongsamouth Anlavan, Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) to Japan. The dinner, held at Trader Vic’s in Tokyo, was attended by the Heads of Mission of ASEAN Missions in Japan.
The evening began with welcoming remarks by H.E. Dato’ Shahril, who expressed his heartfelt appreciation for H.E. Pongsamouth's dedication and invaluable contributions to the ACT during her tenure. In her response, H.E. Pongsamouth Anlavan conveyed her deep gratitude to her fellow ASEAN colleagues for their friendship and collaboration over the past four years. A token of appreciation was then presented to H.E. Pongsamouth as a gesture of gratitude for her unwavering support since her arrival in Japan on 26 March 2021.
The dinner concluded with a group photo session, marking a warm and memorable farewell to a valued colleague and friend.
