Global Student Leadership Summit

9 January 2026 – Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia; and Universiti Malaya (UM) in cooperation with Yayasan Perkasa Siswa organised the Global Student Leadership Summit (GSLS) 2026 at the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki, Japan from 9 to 11 January 2026. With the theme “Nurturing Tomorrow’s Global Leaders”, GSLS 2026 brought together more than 100 Malaysian and international students representing over 20 Malaysian and foreign universities.

 

GSLS 2026 commenced with a keynote session featuring Mr. Zainal Azlan Mohd Nadzir, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo; Prof. Dr. Zamri Radzi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UM; Prof. Nagata Kyosuke, President of the University of Tsukuba; and Prof. Yoshiyuki Sankai, CEO of Cyberdyne Inc., as keynote speakers.

 

The Embassy congratulates the organisers on the successful convening of GSLS 2026, which contributed significantly to strengthening leadership qualities among participating students, while providing valuable international exposure through the diverse programmes conducted throughout the summit.
