31 May 2025 – H.E. Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, held an interactive session with members of the Malaysian diaspora and students in Japan. The session was organised in conjunction with the Minister’s working visit to Tokyo for the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity Ministerial Meeting 2025 (APT-MM), held from 30 to 31 May 2025. Also in attendance were Mr. Anwar Udzir, Deputy Chief of Mission, along with Heads of Department from the Embassy of Malaysia in Japan.
In his remarks, Datuk Fahmi shared key developments in Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and advance the creative and content industries. He highlighted the critical role of young Malaysians, particularly those studying overseas, in driving innovation and contributing to the nation’s digital transformation. Participants took the opportunity to engage in a candid dialogue with the Minister, raising questions and sharing views on a range of issues.
The engagement concluded with the Minister reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to empowering Malaysian talents abroad and strengthening ties with the diaspora, in pursuit of a more connected, inclusive, and resilient Malaysia.
