14 September 2024 - His Excellency Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, officiated the Malaysia-Japan Visionaries Conference (MJVC) 2024 at the University of Tokyo, Japan. Organised by the Malaysia-Japan Academic Association (MJAA), MJVC is an academic conference aimed at strengthening Malaysia-Japan relations in the field of education through knowledge and information sharing in the field of research between the two countries.
The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Tanaka Kenji, Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering of Tokyo University, Prof. Masahiko Horie, Advisor at the Japan Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), Prof. Ts. Dr. Ali Selamat, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) and Mr. Thomas Mathew, CEO of TalentCorp.
With the theme "Wisdom is the Application of Knowledge," the three-day event from 14 to 16 September 2024 attracted more than 300 participants, including 84 oral presenters, 39 poster presenters and 14 non-presenters submitting proceedings in the fields of science and technology, social sciences and humanities, law, economy and business, engineering, manufacturing and construction, health and medicine as well as cross-disciplinary and other emerging areas. The event was also supported by the Ministry of Human Resources and Talent Corp.
