Malaysian Embassy Participated at ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) 2009 Bowling Tournament
The Embassy of Malaysia participated at the annual ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Bowling tournament held at Shinagawa Prince Bowling Center, Tokyo on 25 July 2009. The seven-member team comprised Ahmad Rozian, Jasri Kasim, Redhauddin Kamaruzaman, Izran Abdullah, Nazul Azha, Dzulkafli Sharif and Roslina Mat Dom.
All ten ASEAN Embassies in Tokyo took part in the tournament. This year also saw the participation of guest players from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (Gaimusho) led by the Director General of the Asian & Oceanian Affairs Bureau.
The tournament was played over three games. The Malaysian team played well in the first game to have a slight lead against the Bruneian team with the others breathing down their necks. Consistency put paid to the Bruneian team when it emerged as champion at this year’s tournament. The Laotian team came in second with the Malaysian team and the Philippines team sharing third place.
The ACT Bowling tournament is one of the main ACT activities conducted with the aim of contributing towards the establishment of ASEAN Community. Other main ACT activities are ACT Family Day and ACT Golf Tournament.
