23 August 2023 – The Embassy of Malaysia received a visit from Japan Tourism Agency (JTA), Ministry of Tourism of Japan led by Mr Tabata Yoshihiro, Deputy Director of the Office for International Affairs Division of JTA. Mr Tabata was accompanied by Mr Sato Teruaki and Ms Isonuma Chisato, Chief Officers of the International Affairs Division of JTA. The Embassy was represented by Mr. Anwar Udzir, Deputy Chief of Mission and Mr Mohammad Nor Ismail, Director of Tourism Malaysia (Tokyo Office).
The purpose of the meeting was to brief the Embassy on the ASEAN-Japan Tourism Ministers’ Special Dialogue which will be held in Tokyo from 27 to 29 October 2023, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.
The Special Dialogue aims to discuss the promotion of sustainable tourism and mutual exchanges in order to further strengthen cooperation in the tourism sectors between ASEAN and Japan.
