YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, recently visited the NEC Corporation office in Tokyo on 17 March 2026. He was accompanied by Mr. Zainal Azlan Mohd Nadzir, Deputy Chief of Mission, together with officials from the Embassy of Malaysia and the Ministry of Digital.
During the visit, the Minister was introduced to NEC’s latest innovations and had the chance to experience their iris and facial recognition technologies firsthand. The session also included a good exchange of ideas on digital transformation, especially on how data can be better digitalised and utilised for future needs. The visit reflects Malaysia’s continued interest in exploring smart technologies and strengthening collaboration in the digital space.
