A National Day Reception was held on 16 September 2014 at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo to celebrate the 57h Anniversary of the Independence of Malaysia and 57th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Japan. The annual event was hosted by Mr Hendy Assan, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Malaysia to Japan and Mrs Hendy. The reception commenced with the National Anthems of Malaysia and Japan followed by a speech by Mr Hendy Assan. Around 450 guests filled the Ballroom and they were feted with an assortment of Malaysian dishes buffet, and video presentation of Malaysia’s best features and fascinating tourism spots. Among notable guests included HE Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Member of the House of Councilors, Member of the House of Representatives, other diplomatic corps, prominent companies and media in Japan as well as Malaysian entrepreneurs and professionals.
