A National Day Reception was held on 8 September 2015 at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. The annual event was hosted by H.E Dato’ Ahmad Izlan Idris, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan and Datin Rose Abdullah. The reception commenced with the National Anthems of Malaysia and Japan followed by a speech by H.E. Dato’ Ambassador, H.E. Yoko Kamikawa, Minister of Justice and concluded with the short remarks and toast by President of Japan-Malaysia Parliamentarians Friendship League, Mr Kenji Furuya. Around 350 guests filled the Ballroom and they were feted with an assortment of Malaysian dishes, and video presentation of Malaysia’s best features and sightseeing. Other notable guests included H.E. Yoshiro Mori, Former Prime Minister of Japan, Member of the House of Councilors, Member of the House of Representatives, other diplomatic corps, prominent members of the business community and the media in Japan as well as Malaysian entrepreneurs and professionals.
