17 March 2023 – H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, attended the Petronas Japan media briefing. In his opening remarks, he congratulated Petronas for playing an important role as a progressive energy solutions partner for a sustainable life, despite huge energy and renewable sources challenges faced globally, including in Japan.
H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Shahril welcomed the attendance of the major media practitioners in Japan to the event as it was an opportunity for both Petronas and the media to engage and build rapport especially as the world returns to normalcy.
Petronas’s presence in Japan started 47 years ago with the first crude oil shipment to Japan. In 2017, Petronas opened its Representative Office in Yokohama, Japan. Last year, Malaysia was the second largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter to Japan.
