Public Diplomacy Program by Malawakil Tokyo with the collaboration of NHK Culture Centre Japan
A Public Diplomacy Program was held at the Embassy of Malaysia on 27 October 2011 under the collaboration with the NHK Culture Centre, Tourism Malaysia and Perwakilan Tokyo. The program consists of the following:
(1) Briefing about Malaysia in general as well as the role of the Embassy by the First Secretary, Political and Economic;
(2) Briefing on the tourism attractions in Malaysia as well as the Long Stay Program and Malaysia My Second Home Program (MM2H) by the Deputy Director, Tourism of Malaysia Tokyo;
(3) The performance of Malaysian dances by the “Mekar Budaya” group; and
(4) Malaysian cuisine for lunch prepared by Perwakilan Tokyo
A total of 40 local participants participated in the Program which was co-organised by two NHK Culture Centers’ namely; NHK Culture Centre Chiba Branch and NHK Culture Centre Hikarigaoka Branch. During the luncheon, His Excellency Datuk Shaharuddin Md Som, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan as well as the Embassy’s officials has taken the opportunity to interact with the participants and attended to some of the questions they had about Malaysia. Most of the participants had shown great interest to know more about the choice for medium and long-term retirement destination through the MM2H and Long Stay Programs.
At the end of the program, both NHK Culture Centers’’ representatives have expressed their deepest gratitude and their intention to further collaborate with the Embassy of Malaysia on their future activities.
