The Embassy of Malaysia hosted a group of 10 students and teachers on 6 March 2026 from Tokyo Metropolitan Takenodai Senior High School as part of its Public Diplomacy Programme. The visiting participants were members of the school’s Foreign Culture Research Club, and the visit provided them with an opportunity to learn more about Malaysia’s culture, history, and education landscape.
During the session, the Embassy delivered an introductory presentation on Malaysia’s multicultural society, the historical background of the formation of Malaysia, as well as opportunities for international students to pursue higher education in the country. The programme also included an engaging question-and-answer session, followed by a cultural activity where participants were introduced to traditional Malaysian games such as Congkak and Batu Seremban.
The visit formed part of the Embassy’s ongoing public diplomacy initiatives aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering greater interest among Japanese youth in Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, higher education opportunities, and the longstanding friendship between Malaysia and Japan. The Embassy looks forward to continuing similar engagements with educational institutions to promote deeper mutual understanding and cooperation.
