21 October 2024 – A cultural diplomacy programme was held at the Midori Elementary School in Itabashi City with the participation of 46 fifth grade students. Mr. Jeffry Meyer, First Secretary of the Embassy, delivered a presentation introducing the students to Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, including its diverse flora and fauna, unique architecture and vibrant traditions.
As part of the program, the students had the opportunity to engage in a Batik colouring activity, providing them with a hands-on experience of Malay heritage. This activity allowed the students to express their creativity while learning about an important aspect of Malaysian culture.
The programme has successfully fostered a deeper understanding of Malaysia among the young students, promoting cultural appreciation and strengthening ties between both nations. It concluded with a lively discussion, where students shared their thoughts and newfound knowledge, highlighting the effectiveness of such cultural exchange initiatives.
